DayBook 1-12-11

Christmas Day "brunch". Well it was supposed to be brunch, but we didn't eat until 4 o'clock P.M. My dad was up all Christmas Eve night puking, so he wasn't feeling good at all. It was a weird Christmas, but I guess everyone has those.

Josh and I. Christmas morning.

Josh, Bella, and I. Christmas Eve night. Bella got the special privileged of coming into the living room and she got to go upstairs to see Dad on Christmas morning.

Bella. :) What a cutie.

Wow! I can't believe a New Year is already here.

2011..... I wonder what you'll bring.

I joined the Team Norway ski team, back in December, after only skiing three times in my life, over a span of six years. The first practice was pretty humiliating for me, but thankfully I'm now getting the hang of it. The coaches told me "You're a real skier now!" I think they're pretty proud of how far I've come in four weeks. From struggling down the easier hill to starting to weave poles on the racing hill. Haha for me that's a big accomplishment!

My coaches are Mr. Nicholson and Matt. Both of them are great teachers; kind, encouraging, funny. I'm having a great time!

The only thing that kept me coming back after the first week was going to Harvard, because a girl on the team got a full ride scholarship there because of her skiing abilities and academics. Now I go back because I love it, and because I still want to go to Harvard!

I am excited for: The Pine Mountain ski day tomorrow. It's for homeschoolers and this one private school. It's $5 for a lift ticket, $5 for lunch (which is gross), $5 for rental, $5 for a lesson. I'm just getting the lift ticket. Hopefully we can stop at Subway and get subs for lunch. My mom is actually going to try it because it's so cheap. I hope she doesn't break anything! lol I don't think she will. I literally can NOT wait! It will be so much fun to ski somewhere else!
