A Sad Story

My Dad told me this story, and thought I should share it with you.
*****************************************************************************
A couple got married and wanted a child so badly. For some reason, they were only able to have one child. After the child was born, whom they named Christopher, they were thrilled! They loved this child so much. He grew up to be a kind, gentle, and loving.
When he was around ten, his best friend, a Pepsi addict, needed someone to donate a kidney right away, or he would lie still forever on this planet. (The Pepsi had ruined both of his kidneys.) Christopher came home one day and told his parents all about it. He said, "Dad, People can live on only one kidney, right?"
"Yes."
"Well, I'd like to donate one of my kidneys to Ryan. Please, I don't want him to die!
His parents agreed, and were soon filling out the paperwork needed for the surgery.
Later that week, Christopher was wheeled into the opperating room for the surgery. Once the sound of the wheels had died away, the mother turned to her husband with tears in her eyes.
"I'm so proud of him, honey. Aren't you?"
Her husband shook his head yes.
A little later a nurse stepped out into the waiting room. " I'm very, very, sorry. After the transplant your son passed into the open arms of the Father.
*******************************************************************************
After most of the grieving and sorrowing had past, the mother of Christopher went to visit Ryan and his family. As she stepped inside of the creeking screen door, she noticed Ryan sipping something on the island. She looked closer. She let out a gasp. He was drinking Pepsi.
*******************************************************************************
How would you feel if the characters in this story were you and your family?
This boy put his life down on the altar and sacrificed his life for his friend.
What does our Father in Heaven think when He sacrificed his ONLY Son for us, and we keep on sinning and doing what we want to do?
